about us

Long before El Atlacatl had a name, it had a kitchen. A family kitchen where Salvadoran recipes were cooked from memory, passed down with pride, and shared with everyone who walked through the door. For the Moreno family, food has always been the language of welcome, the expression of culture, and the thread that ties generations together. Those roots run deep, and they run straight through everything we cook.
Over 30 years ago, we brought that spirit to Calle Ocho in the heart of Miami's Little Havana, and it has never left. What we built here is more than a restaurant. It is a gathering place where the flavors of El Salvador meet the warmth of a family that genuinely loves to feed people. Every plate that leaves our kitchen carries that story, and every guest who sits at our table becomes part of it.
Our Philosophy
W
We believe Salvadoran food is culture on a plate. Our philosophy is simple: to cook honest, homestyle dishes that honor the flavors, traditions, and people of El Salvador, served with the warmth of family at every table.

We believe great food tells a story. Our philosophy is to preserve the rich culinary heritage of El Salvador, one handcrafted dish at a time, with fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, and 30 years of Moreno family pride behind every plate.
